That's cool. I almost lost my sh*t when I realized my bus was included in a magazine shoot (it's in the background, minor but cool to me) so I had to go buy that magazine immediately.
Fun stuff. _________________ RPM=(MPH*336* (R&P*4th*1.26))/Tire Diameter in inches |

I love that bus! I would like to see a few more pictures, you have a build page?
I can't say the picture between the brick buildings do much for it. (JMO), I'm no expert on photography, but the setting just takes away seeing the beautiful color without the reflection of the surroundings in the bus. I think it needs to be out in the open so you are viewing the pretty colors and how straight it looks. Other than that, more of the bus please. _________________ I know you would understand what I'm saying if you could just see my HANDS

Thanks Wayne....
BugThug. Go to page 1 of this thread to see the build.
I kind of like the pic because there are so many different windows. The calendar is for downtown Littleton. This is an alleyway down there. |

so did it get its day in the calendar? I have read this from the beginning, but I've read a lot more other builds since then. Its been awhile since I've been back on the Samba, just busy trying to get my shop built and stuff done before the cold weather starts. I need to get my bus back inside and build something for it to roll around on. I wish my bus had all the stuff yours had from the start, the middle seat is a great plus. Good luck on the calendar entry, hope it gets selected. _________________ I know you would understand what I'm saying if you could just see my HANDS

When I first saw this bus I noticed that the headliner had zero tears in it. Could you please photoshop a small tear in it, so I can feel better _________________ Waiting for santa to drop off funky green. I can wish can't I???? |

Sweet bus Scott, not sure how I missed the build thread on this one. You ever get out to the Golden Super Cruise? |

Nice one Todd.....It was a little like that getting it into position. We took some pics further back but there was a drainage gulley in the middle and the stance was all wonky. I moved it to flat ground and it looked better.
We will see if it makes the calendar. I'm doubtful, but worth a try. |

I mounted a T bracket to the PVC housing and then used the top of the T to mount it to the parcel tray. You can't see it on my previous pictures, but that's how I did it. Good luck....Scott |
I just bought a pair of those exact same speakers, and i will try to replicate what you did... but i'm still trying to figure out how exactly did you attach the T bracket to the speaker housing. A pic would really help me, and also anyone in the future trying to apply your idea. _________________ ॐ |

I drilled 2 holes through the top of the PVC housing and used a nut and bolt to attach the bracket. Nothing fancy. I affixed the bracket to the parcel tray with the 2 holes on the top of the T. |

Love your bus man! It's the inspiration for mine. I love the patina, and originality. Do you ever think about doing this bus up with body work and paint? Do you think it's worth it with this market? Do you even care? (I think it IS). If you are enjoying it now, while you dont have to worry about getting dings and dents and chips, keep it the way it is. I am going to roll mine as-is for awhile and enjoy it like you are. Just wondering. Cheers! _________________ Jet City 1957 VW Oval Rag Build:

We received notification that it got an honorable mention.....probably a small pic on the back of the calendar.

I don't ever foresee me painting this bus. I don't think I would reap the benefits of the amount of money it would cost to paint it. Also, i drive it on a regular basis and want to enjoy not worrying about a door ding or paint chip. I have a nicely painted beetle that takes that place.
I went so far as to powder coat the bumpers and make them nice, that's probably the extent of fresh paint on it. I have a little bit of cancer on the lower nose that I would like to get fixed one day. However, I enjoy driving it too much to take it out of commission for a while. |
