Come camp with us and help raise money and awareness for the Roadrunner Food Bank and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico. The event coincides with the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the largest gathering of Hot-Air balloons in North America. All three days balloons of all shapes, sizes and colors will be taking to the sky. Thousands of balloons can be seen without ever leaving camp! This years event will contain a show and shine with "fun awards" as well as a raffle, a live band, and kids activities. Tune down those engines for some slow drag competition (with prizes for the top three competitors) Come see friends new and old and have a good time for a good cause. NEW THIS YEAR: We will be offering FREE shuttle rides to the Balloon Launch Field on Saturday Morning, as well as a caravan down to the field for the Balloon Glow at dusk. The campground is located right on the Jacks Fork River for you floating, canoeing, fishing, etc enjoyment. There are basic sites (preferred) or full hookup sites ranging from $7-$20 a night. SATURDAY October 18th, 2008 at Bradenton Motorsports Park drag strip in Bradenton, FL from Noon - 7pm This fifth annual FixxFest is a gathering of fellow VW enthusiasts for not only local enthusiasts but for all those willing to make the trek down to sunny and warm Florida. The show is not only a GTG but also a track event where anyone can make runs down the drag strip for an additional fee. The GTG portion of the show will have room for 2000+ cars to be displayed. The drag strip will be available from 1pm - 6pm for as many runs as you want to get in!! This year for the first time FixxFest will be held on a SATURDAY!! Because of this we are currently expecting 1200+ cars and hope that this number may reach 1500+. The show will be held at a familiar location for those of you who frequent the only 1/4 mile drag strip in the Gulf Coast area, Bradenton Motorsports Park. To view the event layout click here. Camping is $25 for Friday and Saturday and includes BBQ for the driver. Additional plates are $5/adult and $3/child (12 and under). Drinks are free, which include keg beer, sodas, and water. The BBQ and Drinks are for Friday night only. If you are only camping Saturday night its $10 per vehicle. Friday-Gates open at 3 PM, BBQ and beer starts around 6PM til gone Saturday Morning-6:30 AM wake up for show, roll to show about 7 AM Saturday Night- Fire, gas-grills provided for cooking, unofficial evening cruise This will all take place at the Yuma County Fair Grounds, the same facility as last year. There are nice showers and flushing toilets. We are camped in a grassy area and have control over lighting the area up as needed. Please, we ask that you do not do any "hot rodding" on the Fair Grounds property, pets are allowed as long as you clean up after them. Please, no glass containers in the park, pets are allowed and the park has poopie dispensors. Import Auto Open House Saturday, November 8th right after the show from 3PM to 6PM. Drop in to see what Jeff might have on special and grab free food! The nice thing is he is right outside the West gate of the Fairgounds where the camping is taking place. Vw´s Concentration on November 9th. 2008 at Parque Vicente Guerrero in Mexicali, Baja, México, where people gather from differents places to enjoy the fun of being in the Volkswagen family.
