Flat lime green. I Hope no one steels the idea. I also wish I was good at photoshop to show the wife. She is not convinced yet.
I plan on a full fender car with all "new" fenders.

Here is the lastest on the dash. Finished except waiting on Head temp and oil temp guage. Outside of that its done!!!! Thanks to Captain Spalding on his idea of wrapping the grab bar with bike tape. worked great. Now all I have to do is buy another weather strip at the windshild. It was ruined durring the fiberglass mold. As you can see in the picture. Im glad that is only 15 bucks compaired to the windhield I crack during the dash build

Installed new fenders from BCF (Brian Coats Fabrications 714-799-9192) today. These are amazing. It took less than an hour to install and they are ready to paint. The manufacture left them long in the front so they can be cut to any shape. I plan to have custom tube bumpers made so I will cut to the contur of them. What I like the most is the absents of the turn signal. I never liked them in the first place. I always thought they were way to big and ugly. I looked at the other taller and wider fenders and they were a mess. It would have taken a lot of body putty to fill in blemishes. Another plus was they were cheeper.

I know I have posted this a few times but thought I would put the final version in. I finished it completely today hooking up all the wires. The turn signals still do not work but I think it is because there is not a complete circuit at front and rear to draw enough juice for the flasher to work. I left enough room and wired for a head temp guage once the new 2L is built. The only thing I wish I had done different was to make this dash deeper. Unless you have very tiny hands and orangatang arms it is tight.

The rear suspension is 99% done. Limit straps are being welded as I type. I am so excited I could not wait. After re indexing the rear and cycling though there is over 12" of suspension. Due to the longer trailing arms a hoop was made. It now holds 4 KYB shocks, limit straps and across the top a bracket was welded in place to hold the oil cooler. I have about 45 days to button up all the loose ends and take to Ocotillo Wells for New Years. Its madien voyage. More pictures to come when the front Bumper is done on Monday.

Seats are PRP. You can find at most "offroad" type shops. Tail light I got from SO Cal Imports but many others sell them Cip1, etc. They are "Tail Light Assembly, Bug/Super Beetle '73-'79, Flat, Amber/Red/Clear" $45/pair |

Things are comming together except for this noise from trani/clutch. ( got a puch list of 10 or so items). Alignment today. Trip still looks good. We will be in the back near the bowls and hills. I like to avoid the monkey business of the knuckleheads so we are away from them. |

I am also going to Ocotillo but sadly without my car. It's still in pieces and under snow right now. i am ding a similar build as you are, just on a smaller budget and way behind on my deadlines. I'll be on a motorcycle but will look for you in the bowls. |
