Back on the road again. I found a mysterious object under my workbench while cleaning. It must have "popped" and flew 3 feet under bench. I called Empi and after 2 weeks of investigation they replaced it. Thank god it happened in the garage and not on the road.

I love this motor. Plenty of pull (torque), which is what i wanted for these larger tires. I also wanted something to get up the hills in the desert. It dyno'ed at 110HP and I think 106 or 110 Torque. as for Single vs double. I would do single all day long. I have both in my household. in fact I spent the better part of yesterday and will spend most of today dealing with jetting and trying to get my hands in places they dont fit. My 356 Porsche has dual 40 IDF's. Love the carbs but hate the dual tuning. My thing has a single 44IDF. It is all about fuel air ratios. a Larger single carb will do the same as smaller duals. I know many with dual will argue but the dyno does not lie. If you want specifics on the jetting for the carb I can pull the tubes out and list them.
As for the Motor:
40X37.5 Heads
120 Cam
69 C/W Crank
8 Pin Flywheel
I think jugs are 94 to make it a 1915
What is feeding your 1915?

Please share specs on the carb... Also, what all is in the engine?

I am going to try and liven up my 1915 with either a single weber, or dual baby webers... Single seems a Lot easier without the hassle of tuning duals...

Heard an interesting noise and had a vague idea of where it was coming from. Reached back behind the shroud and could feel movement clockwise and counter. I don't know why this happened (too much motor torque, did not tighten well or things just came loose). I bought a new welded fan and seems to run about 20 degrees cooler and no more noise.

nice upgrade on the brakes. I too held off initially. Just finished within last couple months putting the AC kit up front on mine. so far, love it. I can get the nose to dive and a sudden stop. have not gone for lock up though. prior to that, it was a slow steady roll even wit new drum system etc since restoration. That's with 235's on all corners.

so far worth the investment. I too feel better with my 21 yr old son who sometimes forgets he is in a 40 yr old vehicle with 40 yr old technology.

project never ends...........

I finally pulled the trigger and installed front disc brakes. Trying to stop these 31's was too much. I was concerned my wife or son would try and stop this car like our others rather than understand that it is a modified 41 year old. I choose AC Industries. I am very please with fit and finish as well as the new stopping ability. I wish I would have done this before I modified and spend great $$$ on the stock drums. They always say you can never afford to to it right the first time but can always afford to do it twice.

Getting ready for New 1915 Motor. I figured it was time since I could push it down the driveway in second gear.
I had the Trani gone though cuz it is behind the motor and not interested in pulling it again.
Hope to get the motor back and to the dyno next week.

I am headed down a similar path with the lift, same fenders and wheels.

Are you happy with the tire size?

Very happy with tire size.
I would not go any larger.
1. No need. I have never scraped anything below the car yet.
2. Nothing rubs.
3. cruising at 65 difficult. right now. until 2L is build. 55 is right between 3rd and 4th.
4. Stopping. Right now fine. More rotation could be a problem. There is a lot of rotational force. from puny 14" tire and wheel to 15" X 31" tire and wheel.

BugZyla.com makes a 1.5 stock arm and I believe can do 1". if you search the forum for Bugzla, it will lead to post and also link to classified for the arms.

Where can I get the 1xstock rear trailing arms, I'm in long beach ca. and would love to get my rear tires centers better. Im currently running 15x7 ultras out back with the 3'' body lift. any help would be great.
