Ad now updated to include pictures and a lot more detail.

Still seems a little high though, but with CDN/USD exchange it's closer to $30K USD which might not be too bad for a Bostig powered Syncro Westy for someone coming from the US.

Interested in that one if the price is right;

You will likely get more responses in the general Vanagon forum area. Not everybody pokes around in the "wine" section. Smile

Maybe title it something along the lines of looking for pricing feedback for knowledge building, or something like that.

The seller may have added pics but sure still has a terrible memory and/or documentation. I'd dock him $5k just on principle of having no clue when he bought it or when the motor was replaced. I'd be surprised if he knows where the hell the title is.

How did this not make the list?

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1899302

I triple checked the thread - maybe search function doesn't work like I think. Tried entire link, and just the ad ID.

OBO . . . half that? 2/3?

Not a whine, but I figure after a few comments it will be moved here.

anyways- real early seats and early cabinets in a 89 Syncro Westy, with supposedly low miles,

I don't get why sellers post parts that are readily available for prices that are way more than what vendors sell em for. Rolling Eyes

Yup looks like most of feedback is from seller and couple fake buyers to boost his rating. Bunch of good comments on BAT website:
http://bringatrailer.com/2016/05/17/euro-market-syncro-1987-volkswagen-westfalia-turbodiesel/

Im actually glad they post it on BAT so actual buyers can see the comments on this seller.

That thing has a 2WD speedometer in it. That along with the brown interior tells me that something is up.

Of course, there is a LOT that's 'up' with that van. Originally not a Westfalia, early 80's interior, tampered mileage figures, on and on the list goes. Def. not the correct Westy roof section added! I pity the person who falls for this one and doesn't know what he/she is looking at.

And who needs those pesky pop top seals any way. Interesting to do that much work and not put seals on the roof.

The ebay photos do not show any hole in the roof to access the poptop! Laughing

This is the guys standard operating procedure. He brings over European vans, swaps out the speedo for one from the bone yard (dialing back the milage) and then gets someone at the local DMV to print up a New Jersey title with the new doctored odometer reading. Claiming, clean title, clean CarFax! (because the vans from Europe, no CarFax record!) Total fraud.

This van looks like some Europeans DIY backyard swap, and he tries to pass it off as factory. The guys a scumbag and belongs in jail. It's one thing to bring over vans from Europe, make a few bucks; another to dress up a pig with lipstick.
