A very nice Sambanista (thanks AlteWagen !) texted me and said: "this dash handle is for Kabrio (Kabriolett/convertible) from 1958-60 only. Hard to find piece when you need it". This might also have been available as an accessory dashboard grab handle. It is in used condition. It is complete with all mounting hardware (both original plastic gasket/seals, both cast metal "shaped" support washer on forward side of dash sheet metal, both external tooth lock washers, and both "early" 14mm original hex nuts). The ivory color plastic or maybe Bakelite? handle material is cracked but is usable as is or could be epoxied, sanded and painted. Because of the "shaped" support I'm thinking that this is shaped to fit the 1958 and onward dash profile on a Beetle.
