Greetings, I’m doing all my chrome in black powder coat. My after market pop outs have a chrome mold. Can I just pull this chrome off and have just black rubber seal exposed.

It's not chrome, it's aluminum and that's the frame of the glass sits in.
Scuff the surface and spray it black. _________________ Glenn

Your pop outs are in really nice shape, sell them & get uglier ones to paint, or get these.

Could also anodize the frames (you'd want really nice frames to do that).
Done it before, turns out nice. _________________ When I set my timing, why do I flush, then take a pee? |

You could wrap the trim with black vinyl, easily reversible if you or the next owner decide you don't like it. I've done it with electrical tape in the past, which in reality is just a roll of black vinyl already close to the correct width. _________________ 1973 Superbeetle: 1st car, owned since age 12. I'm not sure why I didn't think of doing that with my frames! Game changer. Was gonna powder coat but anodize is SO much better. Thanks for bringing that option up!

I think it looks great the way it is now. Kinda matches the wheels already. Nice looking Bug. To each his own though too. |

Tape them off, scuff with a red scotchbrite, shoot with SEM Trim black (it's satin black). _________________ ~ Paul
