Hey all,
Im working on some part sourcing this week for my 70' Squareback. My understanding is the front disc brakes are the exact same as type 1 bugs? I ask because I am converting to wide 5 and I need new rotors anyways so I am hoping its a simple swap, just order 5 lug "bug" or type 3 rotors and calipers?
Thanks,

Contact ISP West and see if they offer a conversion rotor. Keep in mind that 4 lug rotors for a type 3 changed in early 72 (got larger) and were the same as a Ghia used from 67 on. The calipers however are smaller on a Ghia (piston size is 40mm vs 42mm for a t-3) which is about 10% of the braking force.
When dealing with brakes, nothing is a "simple swap". Since you have a 70, most of the brake parts are easier to find, versus the 72-73 models. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
