Intermittent ABS "buzz" under normal braking 2003 EV MV

Hello folks,

My 2003 Eurovan is occasionally activating ABS under normal braking. There's just a very brief (less than a second) "buzz" coming from the pedal and behind the firewall. No dash lights (ESP/TC) illuminate when the buzzing happens.

I've done a bit of research and most forums point to dirty/failed ABS wheel sensors or ABS control unit. I have not scanned it, but I will when I get my VCDS back. There are no dashboard lights at all.

Thoughts?

my 2001 eurovan does this.
I have a new axle,the old axle outer boot tore open and gooped the wheel well and I assume my wheel sensor and sprockets.


I have also replaced the tone ring on the old axle before as the old one was cracked, very much buzzing before the fix.

Someone on here ordered new ones from England to update theirs, they crack.

My axle had 208k on it
