First question is under the engine bay hood on the upper right side of the body is a white box. This box has multiple wires going to it. There are 2 green wires and a ground wire wrapped in white that go to a black connector that is open ended. Just curious what this connector is and or what did it go to or what is it used for?

Second question is on the right rear turn signal. The left one works as it should and the rear emergency flashers work on both side but the right rear turn signal does not blink when I turn it on. I'm thinking bad switch but do you guys know of a way to test it or maybe there is an inline fuse or something?

Easy answer first. The white plug belongs to a now defunct diagnostic system that VW used in most of it late 70s cars. Pretty much useless now. You could (and can) use it as test points of sort.

For example, you could test for voltage at test pin 11 and ground for your right turn signal. Depends on whether your diag wires are still intact.

Check the bulb, the 4 pin connector on the right side of the engine bay.

Look for and trace out the black/Green wire

Since you said all of the emergency flashers work, it could be the turn signal switch, but first check the black/green wire going from the turn signal switch to the emergency flasher switch. There is a connector at the bottom of the steering column where the black/green wire that goes to the emergency flasher switch connect with the turn signal switch. You can check for +12V at that connection when the right turn signal is pushed.

Those turn signal switches can be tricky and the wires get pinched easily when you push them into the column, so if the wiring is ok, I would pull out the switch and check the wires before ordering a new one.

Good luck.
