I recently put the vent windows back into my 1957 Bug. I used a mixture of windows, the originals and from a 60s donor. The divider bars are brand new from Wolfsburg West. The windows are a little off, they will not close and latch. I was sure the windows were all interchangeable from 56-64. If the top of the divider bar could move back a 1/4", the window could close. The question is: are there variations thru the years on the small windows cars? Maybe the angle of the divider bar? Maybe the vent window frames are different?

Loosen or remove the top screw in the divider bar.

Close the vent window and move the divider bar back so the alignment is good.

Now, roll up the door window to ensure it fits. If so, mark where you need to install a new screw or enlarge the hole in the new divider bar so that you can adjust it.

After market parts…
