This thread is probably not going to get a lot of traction, but because other forums have vintage photos, let's start one here and see what happens.

Definitely has the face of a Citroen, but Not sure if Citroen ever produced an air cooled boxer...

It was a Citroen GS, one of Citroens many air cooled cars in the 60-70s, wonderful car with hydraulic suspension - extreme comfort and road handling. Somwhere between the Type3 and Type4 in interior size.
Quite successful, some 2.5 million cars were produced (together with the later facelifted GSA).
Engine was fantastic, belt driven OHC cams, running like a turbine at 6000rpm for hours on the highway, no ticking, rattling etc...almost soundless at idle.
The downside was it only had 1200cc and 60hp.

Thanks Lars. Didn’t know that. I’ll have to rummage around in my photo archives..drawer..and see if I can find any shots of the three t4’s that I had in the 80’s/90’s.

I will have to first dig out my scrapbook and then scan the Polaroid of my 1972 411 four door. Don't mind the picture of my GF in front of it

Oh, I like this car. Did not know about this particular model. I assume the engine was up front? Looks like a little gem of an engine. Your description of the engine running reminds me my '84 water boxer. Citroen cars were always so cushy riding. Thanks for showing this Lars!

Ha! That Motor Trend article wasn’t particularly enthusiastic.

I think of Bob Newhart when I look at this photo.

Very un-PC today. The phrase "woman driver" got laughs all by itself. _________________ Current Fleet:
