There's plenty of bugs out there. Take the vett money, the bug money, land in a safe spot and wait for next aircooled to arrive. That's how it works. It will find you! Ha Ha Very Happy

I'm sure it's not perfect but I also don't see any huge holes

Just curious, aren't the pans one of the most common rust problem with these Bugs?
So it shouldn't be surprising and almost expected? I guess it depends on where the car spent most of its life.

Based on the extensive at the rear window, I would be surprised if there's not rust/rot other places.

I'm sure you're right there's rot in other places...it is a 50 year old car. I am curious about what you're referring to on the rear window?? I just went out and took some more pics and will upload in a new comment shortly.

Are you referring to the gunk around the window seal and the seal itself? I pulled back the insulation on the inside as far as I could without damaging it. I don't see any rust or rot. I can't confirm in the storage area without ripping up that carpet which I don't want to do.
I know this bug spent a few years outside under some trees in the PNW (I actually found out who owned it before based on some stuff left in the car and contacted them. If I remember correctly, the lady drove it as a daily driver until sometime in 2012. BTW, she was an actual hippie Laughing )

Rot/rust is an iceberg, you are only seeing 10%, there's 90% you can't see.

Ah yep. Well I mentioned it in my ad as well as pictures. Up to interested party if they think my asking price is worth it to them I guess. Like I said in my original post, I don't want to screw over anyone, just want best I can get. The '74 super I sold in '22 had the death foam problem and its hole was a million times worse...it was huge. Speed holes i guess Laughing

It's a common rust area on '70s Beetles due to the foam insulation used by the factory. I've seen this section rusted from the inside out on otherwise solid cars.

Yep. The 74 Super I had then sold a couple of years ago had it really bad on the passenger side. Like REALLY big hole. Luckily the guy that bought it didn't care because he was doing a full restore on it.

So the ad has been up a couple weeks...getting tired of the obvious scammers and not so obvious ones. I talked to the boss lady and looks like I'm gonna keep Bumblebee (yes, that's what I named it Laughing ) for now and hope I can get a little more for the Vette. Even if I sold it for what I wanted it wouldn't make much of a dent in our $$$ goal anyways so I might as well keep her. Going to deactivate the ad now.
