| At school right now, but I’ll attach a picture of engine bay to make sure I did hoses right. But does anyone have any suggestions on seats or know where I can find early bay seats. Or any suggestions on Jerry rig stuff? |

I for one would love to see more pictures of your bus in general. It looks a great base to start with and I'd be super interested in more shots of it as you go through this journey. It will inspire me and others I'm sure

You can buy rock and roll beds brand new. I'd consider finding a used, Westy interior, or at least a bed. A lot of fun to be had back there with the right interior.

I just spray paint the paper hose so it doesn't soak up oil or water, lasts a long time.

Plastic scraper, brush and vacuum. Wire wheel on drill and vacuum if you dont care about the paint.

lacquer thinner will take it off, probably contact cement remover too
you have to keep it wet to work, not a fun job overhead like that.
insulate it and put a new headliner in and you won't have to see it

| First, take a putty knife and scrape off as much as you can get. Then go to Jegs or Summit and there's a ton of things you can put back up there (search for insulation). Maybe that silver insulating heat shielding. Silver interior ceiling would look cool, keep it cool in the sun and then it can reflect the light on the inside when you and your dudes are chillin' in it somewhere with a lantern. From looking at it, you are not looking for perfection, just something. Then if you get to the point you are looking for a headliner, you already have the insulation done. |

Yeah, I remember a girl just like that. It’s strange having the same bus for 34 years. Many more experiences that are entirely G-rated as life goes on, but no less memorable. I wouldn’t want to be 20 again unless I could take what I knew now back with me.
OP, looks like a solid bus with potential. Hope it takes you on many happy adventures.
You will find a lot of stuff on your bus that needs to be fixed or improved. Focus on the things that make it safe and reliable. You can burn up a lot of time fixing stuff that doesn’t matter. I would throw together a basic camper interior. It doesn’t take much.

I've done this in the past:
Take accurate measurements of the side panels (or what the side panels should be). Go to Home Depot and have them cut some masonite on their large, accurate saw. Install panels with finishing washers and sheet metal screws. You may need to cut some small reliefs, the sliding door latch for example. Use a jig saw or you can do it with a fine hand saw. If you want them a different color, rattle can them. Matte grey would be kinda Kombi-ish.
It will make a huge difference for not a lot of money. I wouldn't worry about insulating it or scraping the crap off the ceiling.
Once your confident with getting the side panels in place, you can work out a solution for the ceiling.
I'm stoked that you guys are stoked. Looks like a nice Bus.

Nice bus, great dog! Blank canvas for an interior, great time to get creative. I like a minimalist approach so it can be used for many things. My Adventure wagon does it all without too much weight or bother.
Consider "Tune in, turn on, and drop out" before life sweeps you up into a largely pointless cycle of bills and stress.
Hope you knock out some good times ( or shower with a buddy if you run that way) in the back.
