I removed this from one of my 50's split beetle engines and I totally forgot what it is and for but vaguely remember it bolted to my oil sump so I am guessing its a temperature sensor bit want to know exactly what it is so any help is much appreciated and yes it works Cool

Is it year specific? Just looking at it ... it would seem it would fit any year

25hp and 1600 have different size strainer plates.

More specifically, If you took it off a 25hp engine, it will fit 25hp and 36hp engines. It won't fit 40hp or later engines.

obviously a Swedish part very useful in Scandinavia. also 220V. our house supply voltage in Europe. Connector looks like a ceramic socket, typically used on stoves, cooking hot plates, ventilators and such back in the 50s.
