I recently attempted (again) to register on www.914world.com but (again) was put off by the fact that although seemingly very popular, it is not a "secured" website, with hacking possible of any data entered & recorded there. Anyone have any insights into that particular website to share? Are there any alternative 914 forums, other than the SAMBA's, to investigate & join that contain a broad spectrum of 914 people? Thanks.

Thanks, Glenn. That certainly makes good sense, but since I use a random password generator, I guess that would be safe enough. Appreciate that bit of shared wisdom. Thumbs Up

I've been on the interweb way before SSL or any encryption.

Just don't share anything you wouldn't put on a billboard.

Don't be like the Life Lock guy.

LifeLock CEO's Identity Stolen 13 Times
Apparently, when you publish your Social Security number prominently on your website and billboards, people take it as an invitation to steal your identity. LifeLock CEO Todd Davis, whose number is displayed in the company’s ubiquitous advertisements, has by now learned that lesson. He’s been a victim of identity theft at least 13 times

I have been on 914World.com as a registered user for 10 years without any hacking or spam email problems. However, I never use the same username across different websites; each one gets a new name from me, as well as a unique password.

Thanks. Appreciate the help! I did sign up (registered), but they supposedly have to send you an email verification in order to use the site, which they failed to do. Seems the webmaster there is not monitoring the site as carefully as needed.
