I bought a 1974 Thing 12 years ago that turned out to missing about half the body. After putting it aside (while raising kids) I have finished the body work and I am now installing the wiring harness I bought at that time from the Thing Shop. My bus wire came with step by step instructions, but this one just has the service manual diagrams. Several questions (pictures would be great).

Where does the positive cable go through the body?
I have no bolt location for the negative? Where should it go?
Is there a grommet for the brake harness through the footwell?
Is there a grommet for the headlight harness from the trunk?
Three holes in the firewall - main harness, positive to alternator and ? EVAP
Also - EVAP line from cannister in trunk runs through fender and under vehicle?

Thanks for any and all help.

Ken

You may want to explore my YouTube channel, I have several videos dealing with the electrical system. Alternator, Generator, Voltage Regulator etc. There is one video I made recently abount wiering a stereo which routes the wires paralel to the main loom. You may find it useful. Feel free to suscribe.

Good luck with your project.
