While I won't be driving this VW when there is salt on the roads, my intention is to put some real miles on it this year, including some longer distances. I plan to keep some spare parts with me. While I will include points, condensor, rotor, etc., can anyone tell me if another, more commonly found distributor, such as a 009, will fit and work? Will a 36hp fuel pump work? They look very similar to me, but it seems like the 36hp is much easier to find. I am only looking at this from a standpoint of on the roadside replacement if something fails.
