i just bought this almost two months ago, amazingly local to me. its a san diego car, very solid. seems like it spent its entire life in socal, since the birth cert says it was delivered to LA. according to the po, it sat for a little while in san diego, before he delivered it up to northern illinois, where it again sat for 3 years in his garage.
the og color is L378 Prairie Beige. what are your opinions on that color?? here is a link to a car that color. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=12466
my car would probably look almost exactly like that.
here some dumb po cut a huge hole, and another moron put a plate back there and filled it with bondo. i scraped most of the bondo, and bent back the plate, ill take a drill to the welds soon.

Other than the dash hole travesty, the car looks pretty nice and solid. _________________ GFK

thanks skim, i think im gonna stray from the prairie beige color, it looks kinda ugly. im not a big fan of coffee either, which is what it looks like. now im looking at L324 polar silver. that is a sweet color. _________________ Cars and metal rust and are destroyed, but the Word of God will never pass away. |

That's a nasty hole you got there. I dig the car though. How's the interior?

sorry nik, i must not have seen your question before. the interiors also fairly ratty, but im gonna re-do that anyway. here's the latest progress:
it doesn't really come out that well in the pictures, but with some filler, i think it'll look ok. certainly looks much better than before. _________________ Cars and metal rust and are destroyed, but the Word of God will never pass away. |

Prarie Beige, Polar Silver, whatever, as long as it's not yellow.
The dash work looks like it's coming along nicely. |

i got it from this one old vw outfit in wisconsin. it was about a 2 hour drive from where i was, and the price was much better than the internet-hyped prices here. pm me if you want his number. _________________ Cars and metal rust and are destroyed, but the Word of God will never pass away. |
