Well after looking for about 2 years I finally found my bug. Here in Florida finding a bug in good condition is like one in a million. And I think I got lucky with this one.

It's a 1959 with OG engine, tranny, and body. It has been repainted once and was apparently Migonette green. It was owned by a lady who died and left it to her son who owned a dealership. The dealership was bought out, and later an employee wanted to buy the bug for his daughter. He is the one who repainted it (bastard). Later it was purchased by the third owner who took care of it and drove it around town. She has about 82000 original miles and will be a great project for me.

I drove her all the way from Boynton Beach to Naples, which took about 3 hours. Got home and she had sprayed a little oil on the rear apron, so that engine going through may have to be sooner than later. Anyways, enjoy.

She has her issues. I have to replace the whole fuel reserve unit, tail lights, brake lights, turn signals need going through. Also may have to do an engine rebuild relatively soon as she likes to leak oil. For the price I got it, the location, and all things considered (NO RUST, and its an OG Florida car) it couldn't have been any better.

Nice car. Get rid of that fuel filter soon. One leak on that coil and you're toast. Confused

no reason to flame you guy- thats a sweet car- like bob said, ditch the fuel filter- and replace the fuel lines while your at it- I was working on my DD today, braided line LOOKED brand new- all craked on th inside, just waiting to leak and catch fire- I hate that crap- back to the car-- looks like a clean ride- be proud of it-

very nice car. now i remember why i had wanted an early big window before i decided on a '57. you just can't beat finding a car locally in an area where good vws are hard to come by. that is how i found my latter purchase. congrats man on that sweet car.
btw, your hair looks like larry norman's circa 1968.

Nice. Very nice
82k miles? Plenty left.
Along with what every one else said about the fuel filter and hoses, tighten the screws on the fuel pump- looks like a bit of a leak

Yea, they could use a little cleaning though. In general I need a vinyl cleaner. The headliner could use some help. Any suggestions?
