looking great already ! The Matra flywheel locking tool is awesome, also their original keyway design. The generator stand you had first was the older unit, for the 90mm generator (same size as 30hp with cast-in-block generator stand) I think that was ca 1960 - 1963 ish. My 62 beetle still has a 90mm gen. _________________ Hotrods, Fords, Veedubs and Triumph Twins !

I would be afraid to run lines and position a cooler in front like that.
I use a stock 71 up doghouse cooler on my 1800 mini stroker in my Westfalia with no heat issues. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Don't afraid, i not going to big off-road adventures i think, and if, the oil cooler pipes are really heavy duty.
We had 30 degrees here yesterday, some years ago we had snow here in that tome of the umyear... so i need to cool down.
Interesting that your doghouse keep the engine that cold, did you have a oil temp instrument?

My fingers.
Yeah I saw the temps on Tageschau. That’s warmer than here. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

There are oil cooler/fan setups that mount to the torsion tube with U bolts or brackets and can be fitted with a Thermostat. Alot closer to the motor. The high perf Vw Buses here in the usa use that setup alot to control temps. Usually a 180F Tstat |

I thinked about that, but i dont like the cooler shooted by stones from the Tires.
I run a front oil cooler on several of my cars with no termostate, it worked good with low level oil temp on long Distance Trips.

I like your clever use of doghouse/firewall engine tin and routing the oil lines through the existing hole. must be much easier to feed the connectors through.
It would be very easy to add heavy duty ( 4 or 5mm) skid plate/ram protection bracket under your front oil cooler. if you really run over a deer or road debris thats big enough to rip off the cooler, you already hove some bigger problems by then... ...hopefully never, fingers crossed !
love your 'small' license plate.... _________________ Hotrods, Fords, Veedubs and Triumph Twins !

the oil cooler is mounted on rubber, so they would bent back it they get a hit.
Yes,you are right, and i still have no lowered Bus, there is enough room under it to lay there if you don´t have a Beer Belly
Some very Intense Days and Nights, after that i tried the first test drive and failed while tried to drive out of the shop.
The reverse rear popped out, so back in, i adjusted the shifter many many times, meanwhile i tived out and in 1 times bevore it poped out again.
i checked everything end ended in shortening the plastic busching in the ww front shiftig rot, it stops the rod get completly in front.
after that i get some test driving, what a great feeling!!
