Ignore beat up bumper...I’m using it as a test fit for a custom bumpers I’m working on. I also plan to add a removal apron.
Once I fire up the motor I will pull it out to start Turbo mods which will include upgraded heads, turbo exhaust and Fitech EFI.
Planning new paint job....possible Nardo Grey like this:

Yes....I wanted hidden hinges and the body shop guy convinced me that it would be easier to pull it off with suicide doors, otherwise I would have preferred the doors to open in their stock form. |

I assumed suicide for that exact reason.. Good stuff man, glad to see a backburnered project get some attention. I'll be following this thread. Super interesting car, can't wait to see what happens next. |

Very nice. Will there be an engine lid?

I recently picked up a nice 67 decklid & CCC makes a nice thick fiberglass 67 apron. I plan to do a removable apron. |

Cool. The apron in your engine picture actually looks like it may be removable.
Nice car.

I had steel fenders that were widened 1” and the bodyshop lined up the steel fenders perfectly with the 66 apron. I have since changed to the CCC 1.25” fenders which you can see is way off on the drivers side. When I install the CCC 67 fiberglass removable apron I will fix the misalignment.

I like the color and mods, look nice and well thought out! What are the pods on the sides? Vents for rear brakes? |

Ducting into the engine compartment for either oil cooler and/or intercooler for turbo or both. I want to have options and I like the look! |

Looks great! I too have a German Look Super that was started from a total from 1999 that I plan on having on the road this Summer. What are you planning on running for side mirrors and exhaust? I made the steel rear apron on mine removable also. Much easier to do everything engine related. _________________ scrapyards are for quitters

I have a 1-5/8” sidewinder currently installed. For side mirrors I’m planning to use the 1st Gen. Mazda Miata mirrors. I had them on my VW previous....I like their shape. Fits the VW round body.

Was thinking of doing a 1” bumper drop but now not sure based on my current ride height. What do you think? I’m also thinking about loping off a few inches from both ends of the bumper blade and welding sheet metal to the upper edge of the bumper to fill in opening between bumper and body to get that one piece look.
Thanks
