May be helpful.
The heat risers off the muffler eliminates carb icing with center-mount carbs; might get away with running without them in hot climates, but the engine will run better with. |

For what its worth, I installed the EMPI filter pump to my 68 1600DP. Fit and finish is good, granted I had to grind the top of the cover to clear the breast plate. Not a big deal. Filter clears the shorty headers. My oil pressure light goes off during cranking so I imagine oil pressure is good.

I have one that has been modified to work with a Flat cam.
