Great rebuild and an example for us that are starting down this path. What is the grounding wire for from the body to the shaft? Mine didn't have it, it's a 64 Type1.


It's an optical illusion, it doesn't actually connect to the steering coupler. The other end attaches to the framehorn on the pan, as a ground for the horn circuit.

Already working my way through that monster thread (19 pages!!), and *just* stumbled across the part number for the plastic plugs.

Next question- what was the source of the Steering Box exploded diagram? That lovely drawing helped me a LOT with my disassembly.
