Yeah two years of drinking beers and scratching my head and all it takes is a few hours to tear it all down? Crazy. Good thing is it came apart relatively easy so everything must be OK.
Planning to build a large powder coating oven soon inorder to coat the trailing arms and for the long term future baja roof racks I plan to sell. Hoping I can pull that off with out too great of expense and time. _________________ Brian H.

Paint is done on the main frame. I have to add some blanks to the engine cage for LED lights before I blast that and paint. Then it's just a matter of blasting all the little parts and powder coating them for final assembly. As I've said a couple time elsewhere I will be making a larger oven to cure parts in. Possibly 4'X4'X6', depending on where I decide to keep it. Maybe I'll put it on wheels and keep it covered up outside when I'm not using it? Dunno?
Anyway, got a camping trip this weekend so not much progress untill next week.... _________________ Brian H.

looks good! just got done painting mine last weekend and have been wiring and running brake lines. just finished up the last line and stray wires last night. the next things to go in are the seats, trailing arms and the floor. Im half tempted to say lets race to see who can get done quicker, but im willing to bet your will be done much more thorough than mine. |

Lol I like how you put that.
I just can't leave well enough alone. Spent the night adding metal to my rear cage for skid plate and lights and want to do more but I got to stop. Time for camping and some partying. Paint it up when I get back next week. _________________ Brian H.

Son...You can't go anywhere until you get out the pump sprayer and squirt all that grass coming up in the joints in your driveway! _________________ Richard

I bet if your wife caught him she'd be all over his case about it. Might get him fired!
I got to go to a race last week, but yesterday I was tearing a dead bush out of the yard. Then in the nursery looking into replacements for it today and adding pavers to the pathway and other yard and house related jobs instead of working on my toys. _________________ Richard

Just thought I'd check in on my build. The last 7 months have been a real bummer. First I lost my best bud and speed beagle to cancer last July which got me in a deep depression. For about 3 months at the start of winter I got so sick and it would just keep coming back which really wore me out. The garage got to be a big mess I didn't want to deal with so, opposite of last winter, I never went out there.
So I'm posting now to get my ass rolling again. If I say something I gotta do it. Things have been turning around for me lately. Two weeks ago I got a new best bud and speed beagle in training which has healed the hole in my heart. Chewie.
Then last weekend we got some temps into the 50's so I managed to clean up the garage some which rekindled my interest in being outside. Tomorrow we're supposed to get dumped on again but it's too late - I gots da spring fever!
So I am pretty much where I left off. A few weeks ago I did attempt to prep a trailing arm for powder coating in the new oven.
Unfortunately, disassembling it resulted in ruining all those beautiful new bearings. They just didn't cooperate. I began adding some metal to the trailing arm pivots to protect the exposed bolt head. But that's pretty much it.
So cleaning the rest of the work area this week then getting back into prepping parts for reassembly. It's about time I get this thing done! _________________ Brian H.

Saayy that is a good lookin pooch. I have missed your posts and was actually wondering what was up. Good to see back at it. Chin up buddy. I also really enjoy the companionship of the dog. Propably been hanging around with one from 6 years old to 50. Think I went a 9 month stretch with out one after loosing a real gooder "Ivan" a real devoted German Shepard. right now I have a Blue Healer " Hank" Little bugger will try to ride in or on any thing with me.

Great looking pup. I lost my best bud last month. We knew she was getting old, so we took her to the Sand Dunes for 10 days last summer. She was able to play in Lk MI one last time. Hope to see the new pup and rail at the Dunes this summer. |

Sounds familiar. My Ginger rode on the Harley's gas tank, stopping at friends houses to say goodbye on the way to put her down. She was so happy despite being so uncomfortable. A dog's ability to live in the moment despite everything is amazing and inspiring. It's good hear I'm not the only sentimental guy when it comes to his pets. They give us a lot and ask for very little. Here I go again. lol
Looking forward to many new adventures with my new furry friend. Now if she could just quit gnawing on me so I can get something done...! _________________ Brian H.
