I honestly used to hate volksrods but threads like this make me want to build one of my own in the next couple years. Keep the updates coming.

I think it's because there are some poorly done hacks that some people just assume they are all that way. Once I saw some quality builds my mind was changed. There was one at a local show that must have taken years to build. It was the furthest thing from a hack job.

Whether hacked or not shiny or not gorgeous or not, all can be enjoyed and appreciated.. by most Volksrod admirers.
Its the owners/builders ability, creativity, financial resources and decision on the final outcome appeal.

I like the fact the majority of Volksrods are built by the owners rather than farming out the work and paying for it... most are not scared to try, learn, fail or succeed..and enjoy.

I agree. I just think that pulling off the fenders and cutting off the aprons ( and roof) with a saws all doesn't automatically qualify your car as a volksrod. That's just being lazy.

I only hate crapy work! This one is starting off top notch. Just don't get in a hurry and botch it up. I struggle with myself and when I catch myself getting In a hurry I have I put it down, go in and have glass of what ever suits me and start again the next day.
If I had time I would love to build one but after I finish my 59 I think I'm going to drive and enjoy. Don't have enough good days left in me to start another project. Keep it up!
