Welcome to The Samba. Smile

What part of Brasil do you come from?

It's a nicely detailed roadster...was it originally a coupe? I know Brasilian convertible Ghias are very rare.

At George Washington's distillery (rebuilt from foundation and original plans), near the estate at Mount Vernon:

Original was the largest distillery of its day in the US. Now the only functioning open-fire distillery in the US. (Albeit, only operating for a couple of batches a year.)

The thread needs reviving. My '64 Coupe on the access road at Letchworth State Park, New York next to the picturesque falls. Returning from the Michigan VW meet in Ypsilanti, 5/2003. The park is located approx. 1/2 drive southwest of Rochester. An early low-res scan of a print.

I still have the Ghia but it's been off the road since 2007. It also needs reviving. Wink

Not my Ghia, but I photographed it while driving my '64 Ghia and is a nice example of rural New York state scenery. My good friend Bill S' cherry red '68 from central Connecticut and I were heading west on our way to Michigan to a large VW meet, May 2000. To bypass the New York State Thruway, we drove on scenic US Route 20 here in Cherry Valley, south of Utica. Ideal driving conditions with hardly any traffic. He sold the car a few years later. I consider it my all-time favorite Ghia.

This is my Karmann Ghia 1966. The restoration of the car started 2009 and was finished last spring (2023].
