This came with My car in a box, It measures 12 1/2" and is threaded with a point at one end and a slotted head on the other, I'm guessing part of a swing axle or torsion adjusting tool?

Very handy tool if you are playing with height (rear anyway) or several cars or just trying to find the 'right' height for your own ride. _________________ ----------------

What goes in these two holes in the b-pillar of the convertible frame if anything?
Also where can I find and what do I call the trim that goes over the ridge where the long red line is?

That looks like the area that the hook retainer for the top screws in. |

I have those. I had the bases and made stainless steel hooks out of a couple of bolts.

Thanks. I kept searching for trim or plastic trim and couldn't find it anywhere. Also I have to say that is a pretty useless place for a coat hook, especially when the top is up.
"Are you looking into replacing the original attachment hardware for the side panel cover strips?"
Not really too important for me. If one of the stock plastic trim attachments fit from the auto store (or even a stainless buttonhead bolt) I can just go with that. |

Agreed And this isn't an ideal coat hook either, even with the top up...

Hi there !
I'm new kg owner from belgium and I'm changing the 2 floorplans.
On this picture I have seen the same button than I had on my older floors but don't know the utility and the name.
Is there still available and where ?
Thank you.
Kind regards,

Hope you don't mind waiting 8 months for a reply. Old school mod. Instead of using the heater boxes to heat the cabin you us the fresh air system to cool the engine. You run the fresh air vents to the back and you have enough air for the carbs and the shroud without having to replace the 69 decklid with a later model. Also increases the debris that makes it on the engine unless you also find a way to incorporate an air filter. |

Hi all,
I'm relatively new to the VW world. I have a 74 KG convertible and found this in the trunk. Anyone know what it is/where it goes? For what it's worth, the car has A/C.
Thanks,
Robert

Thanks fellas. Something tells me this isn't going to be fun re-installing. I can only hope there's one installed and this one is extra.

It is an easy one to get at if you remove the breast plate. There's plenty of room to get at it that way. I had them reversed and corrected them in that manner.
