I have found an og judson supercharger that im considering putting on my 66 bus. It's only the compressor, so what parts would i need to get it to work.
Also, I have a 1600cc DP motor, would the judson still work (I have only seen them on very early VW's)
Thanks; Austin

you need to goto look at Judson Register (see below)
and check this link

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=136613&highlight=judson+1600

The short answer is No, for 2 reasons:

1) the Judson was built for a 40hp or 36 hp engine and

2) to get it into the bus youll have to cut one of the cross memebers and still I think the airfilter wont fit

quick review of Judson

2 types out there,

40hp (Type II judson - does not mean for bus)

and a 36hp Judson

the Judson TypeII is a 40hp (1200cc) designed to give mild boost for the small single port engine, thus without overreving the Judson it will not provide boost to the 1600. Overevving can be done but heat loading is an issue. Most people agree that overrevving Judson leads to overheating and failure.

Finally the blower body is one part of alot of other pieces. go to

http://vwjudsonregister.tripod.com/

and see the list of parts and applications for the Judson

Now you could shove this in your dad's single cab with an oldschool
single port 40hp and have something pretty different.
