VW air compressor.
Runs on 2, and compressor on the other 2.
Had a special camshaft.
Our local Firestone truck tire store had 2 of them, back in the 70's. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

The Bosch tag appears to be partially in French, and the distributor is for a two-cylinder engine. Panhard cars are French, and post-WWII models used 2-cylinder engines. It could also be from a Rovin, which is a French microcar powered by a 2-cylinder engine (except in very early models). But I have no idea if either or both used Bosch distributors, and if so, why they might use a modified 4-cylinder design. I'm getting the Panhard or Rovin vibe from "Import of Germany" in French on the Bosch tag.

That sounds correct to me. I wonder if you ran the air lines into the intake if it acts like a supercharger? _________________ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=366056 - My '73 Super Build. 2332cc, 16" Fuchs |
