I've been trying to find like a 1/18 or 1/24 scale plastic model kit of a bay window Bus...you know, they always have the muscle car ones and stuff at Walmart.
It seems after some digging I can find a few splitties, but no bays. Anybody else ever try to find something like this? _________________ Percy: '77 sage Westy, 2.0L FI (GD), 091 trans

Go to your local hobby shop, not WalMart if you are looking for model kits.
If they do not have what you are looking for, they can probably get it for you.
I do not mean Hobby Lobby, that sells had craft stuff, I mean a hobby shop that specializes in model kits, and trains, and model air planes. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Hey cool link Roy...lots of nifty Bays! It's a lot closer than anything I was finding. Most of those are what looks to be smaller scale though, like Matchbox sized.
And I was just using the Walmart reference as an example...just to indicate that I'm looking one of those kits that come in cards of white plastic that you paint and cut out and assemble. I think my next step will be the hobby shop. I'll see what they can order up for me. I'm really hoping for a late-model Westy but that may be a bit picky
Even if the closest I can find is a lowlight tintop, I did want it to be larger scale and have the ability to paint it whatever color I please. _________________ Percy: '77 sage Westy, 2.0L FI (GD), 091 trans

He's looking for Bay Window plastic model kits...all I see in your link is 2 67 Buses and a 63. No Bay Windows to be had there. _________________ First Trip in the RustyBus:

Man
Nothing turned up anywhere. I'm beginning to think this doesn't exist...I think bay window Buses are somewhat iconic vehicles...I figured someone like Revell would offer one. Guess not.
Unless the hobby shop pulls through, as was suggested. _________________ Percy: '77 sage Westy, 2.0L FI (GD), 091 trans

There have been 1/25-1/24 kits of splittie panels, singles, 21 and 23 windows, but I've never known of a plastic kit of a baywindow. The closest would be the Revell camper Vanagon kit. _________________ Organized people are just too lazy to look for stuff

I've been building & collecting models for a long time.
In 1/24 I've never seen a bay. I have several versions of Splities, and Vanagons.
In Minichamp 1/43 diecast you can find almost any VW.
I'm not saying you can't find a die cast 1/24 or 1/25 bay, just that I've never seen a 1/24 bay model kit. _________________ Good Luck

This is an old thread but wanted to add a few recent VW die cast/scale models I've seen while travelling.
