Ok then....
Not my photos. Taken off the forum, and listed as a slider. I don't know, looks more like it might be a folding operation.
If it slides in, it looks like it would totally block interior access.
Anyone actually seen how this set-up worked?

Looks like it probably slides into the van for transport but man, what are you really gaining? Seems a lot of work for not much gain, If I wanted an extension I would just add a side tent.

and I just noticed the extension has its own pop-top!

methinks the owner is Japanese. the extension is a genkan (vestibule which is not really inside or ouside) You take off your shoes there, you never wear your shoes in a japanese house.

her outfit kinda matches the van to donthcha think?

Wow, I am genuinely perplexed. Notice the two wood slats going vertically on the side? They don't surround a door and I can see no purpose they'd serve other than to act as sliders for removing it, and sliding it in with that side down. However, it looks like that is a full Westy with a kitchen, so how could it fit? Why give it a collapsible pop-top unless you needed to fit it into the van?

It looks too tall to just slide right in.

-Rob

PS: Props to the owner for his original effort, and man I would like to see interior pics!

too tall, and the floor of the ext on the first pic is the same level as the interior.

I'm going with the answer that it assembles there and doesn't slide in-out.

and yes there is a Loo in there. I'm curious what they're using the 20# propane tank for?

I've had an idea of a tip out before, but on the Kitchen side.
or incorporated into a Stretch vanagon's front slider.

I think they are gaining a place to poo. Probably her idea because a lot of girls will not go in a soft environment such as a tent or in the woods, lol. All that aside it's not for me but is creative. perhaps the van doesn't move often.

The propane tank is used to warm the potty seat Laughing. I wonder if it has the self cleaning wand that gently sprays water on yer booty and then gently wipes it for ya.

Those extra "perks" are a real hit over in Japan.
