got a request from a customer for a liner set , bearings and seals ...
he has an engine case with the following number *(star) 748083
any idea what car came with this engine ?? displacement ?? hp`s ??

production year: 1966
internal designation: 616/36
common name: 912
first number: 744211 last number: 750000
first serial number: 740001 last serial number: 756197
first manufactured: 1965 last manufactured: 1967
This engine would have originally been installed in one of the following types of cars:

now , any idea where i can get the specs of the engine ?? hp ?? displacement , etc ....
btw: anyone has a source where to get a 1960/1962 porsche cabriolet that needs to be restored ???

There are multiple places to find 356's for sale. A great place to start is with the 356 Registry group. There are also many 356 vendors that post here on the samba in the Porsche classified.
