As seen in the music video, "The Tide Is High," by Blondie (1980). It appears to be a '68 or '69 Westfalia, possibly a Riviera.

Been watching My Name is Earl occasionally when bored or just need to zone out a bit. As I've spent the past several days moving, That is definitely something I needed this evening.

Spotted a Bay in an episode I was watching today. It is a '73+ model but that is about all you can see.

Later, an off-duty cop about arrests Earl, and was going to stuff Earl into his personal vehicle, which happened to be a Beetle!

At least one more My Name is Earl and Bay Window Bus connection: Rich Parker told me about how he and his family were on a road trip camping in his Bay when they met Jason Lee and he thought the Bus was pretty cool, and as I recall took a pic of the Bus for a book.

I think someone involved in My Name is Earl must have been a VW fan. This early Bay Westy showed up in an episode tonight. Darnell and Joy were driving it during a plot to help Earl escape from prison.

I'm really surprised no one here talks about the Bay in movie Secret Headquarters with Owen Wilson out the last year

was a fun teen hero flick.. good for if you have kids or kid at heart.
movie even has a 1st screen scene introduction of the New VW ID Buzz...
but I won't bother you Bay guys with that...

Spotted another Bay in My Name is Earl. Also a Westy tent in the scene too.

Must have been a VW fan involved in the production.

How do you know it's a '72 and not a '71? US-spec '72 still had rounded bumpers but also had a small flare for the front fenders that the '71 did not have. I don't see a flare in this photo but the Bay is not in focus.
