This bus is in the Classified section now;
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2660952
Seems like a very interesting oppertunity for someone to get a very complete original and not too rusty Velvet green/Pearl white Walk thru Combi for little money, considering nowadays prizes for complete and restorable buses.
It looks pretty bad on the pictures because of the white paint peeling off, but there are no visible rust holes on the underside of the doors, the floorpanels are mostly there, and even the doglegs look decent and complete. It is a walk thru, there is a engine, it has bumpers, all its glass, a VIN plate and even quite some interior pieces. So, what's not to like?
It looks like it has been painted twice over the original paint which is still visible on the left cargo door, where some paint has been stripped away. So you could end up with a nice original paint bus after paint stripping. With those vented windows and a Repro Westy kit it could be turned into a nice and versatile Mosaik camper at some point.
I wish I could get it, but I have no storage and working space right now and it's on the wrong side of the pond for me. So hopefully it falls in the right hands of someone who can appreciate it and give it the attention and TLC that is needed. |

Here is my VG SC acquired in July of '23 from Pomona, CA now in Michigan. Mostly OG paint, it's a great driving truck that I put 2,500 miles on before putting away for the winter. We are rebuilding the front suspension/steering and replacing a broken throw out bearing among a few other things before spring.

Yeah, it's a pretty special truck, I cannot believe how clean it is, there is no real rust anywhere, just some surface corrosion here and there but the underside is scary clean and the patina is perfectly mind blowing. Tell Steven it's in good hands and thanks for selling it to me. Oh, also let him know that the possible transmission issue he warned me about ended up just being a throw out bearing that puked its clips so luckily nothing big. _________________ Sebastian Gaeta

I own a UK RHD 'Devon' Velvet Green/Pearl White Camper - and received this Jigsaw Puzzle as a Christmas Gift - its a really nice quality puzzle of a late VG Westy, obvioulsy faked in picture, but it whiled away the hours on a cold winters weekend
Its a Ravensburger Puzzle, 1000 pieces - puzzle number: 17087
Ravensburher do a few VW themed puzzles - they are all nice items!
and a quick pic of my my own VG bus!

Nice work! WAY better than fresh paint and a heck of a lot cheaper too.
Fade on the roof is stellar. _________________ WANTED:

Thank you for the kind words Gentlemen. The other side came out even cleaner.
The Art of "Unpainting" might just be my favorite thing in life.
Need a Velvet Green Emblem if any of you hoarders have one for this bus. Can Trade. _________________ Austin

What Brand CLR do you guys use to remove rust? Could I get white paint to shine on those front door window frames? _________________ Austin
