I need some help! I have a pretty bad pair of door handles with lock assemblies in them, and a good pair of bare handles. Of course I want to swap the locks out of the old and into the new, but I can't figure out the procedure. I've tentatively poked and pried, just a bit, but I don't want to force or break anything.

Any help on how this is done? How the locks are removed and re-installed?

Thanks ! ! ! ! !

TC

If you have the door handle/lock out of the car, I would just go to a locksmith. They only charge a couple of bucks to remove them and maybe save the old ones by re-working them.

I'll post some pics tonight/tomorrow. Maybe someone can help. I just hate to bring this kind of thing to the lock smiths that we have around here . . .

I have a pair of Pre-A handles, pitted with the locks but no keys.
A pair of SC handles, less pitted with locks but no keys.
A pair of rechromed (sweet) SC handles with no locks.

I sort of want to end up with a pair of the rechromed handles with either Pre-A or SC locks in them. If I can use the SC locks, I'll have the Pre-A set to sell. If I have to sacrifice the Pre-A set, that's fine, no big deal. Either way, I need to remove the locking mechanisms first.

Thank!

Will you sell the pre a lock cylinders and handles? I'm new to this site. How would you reach me? Thanks.
