Damn...the last post here was June 27th. Did y'alls stop drinking beer? So far, it's been a HOT summer here in Joshua Tree, CA.

Last night I had the last of my root cellar stash of my all time favorite. When they are available in November, one sixer gets stuffed way back in the root cellar. I call it xmas in July.
Dark, malty, spicy, nutty, delicious. But it will come around again. And I will be ready. _________________ nothing |

It's been awhile, but there is still good beer out there to discuss.
Recent travels allowed me to find a few new ones.
August Schell's Snowstorm Mahogany Lager. Tasty stuff, I love winter beers.
Despite being brewed with fruit, I dove in and found this one to be quite tasty. Best with a salty snack, like pretzels.
I may have posted this one before, but it deserves another mention. So good, so chewy,
And, finally, at long last, today the local store shelves were blessed with the best winter beer ever produced. Sleigh'r is BACK!

Picked up some Sierra Nevada Atomic Torpedo IPA
Not as good as the original Torpedo IMO buy definitely worth a try.
I am starting to see more cans rather than bottles from Sierra Nevada all of a sudden. _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}

Many breweries are changing over to cans. I am sure there are many reasons, but among them must be shipping and raw material costs. Aluminum is generally cheaper than glass bottles, and much lighter to ship.
I prefer not t o drink out of a can when possible, so I just pour into a nice pint glass.
I have noticed Sierra Nevada beers being at the top tier of the price range at my local store. Oddly, they are often cheaper in The Dakotas and Minnesota when I travel through there. Not sure why. I love Torpedoes, but when a comparable beer is several dollars less per sixer, the choice is easy.
lately, I have been keeping this one around as my staple...
Crisp, clean, not too bitter and flowery. Good stuff made locally. _________________ nothing |

My beer drinking has been limited to non-alcoholic for nearly 25 years due to a medical condition. My fave is the German Erdinger Weissbrau malt beverage, served cool, not 'fridge cold. Before I discovered that, and as alternative is Buckler from Holland. |
When the liquor store was out of the Erdinger, I found an excellent alternative:
Pronounced "WHY en stef ONNer". The brewery is part of the Weihenstephan abbey in the town of Freising, which is just north of the Munich airport. |

Just turned 21 yesterday April 23rd 2023. And I had a cocktail and a shot of whiskey and then tonight had a Busch Light my friend gave me for my birthday. It was almost as bad as that panther pee Bud Light lol. Still better than Natural Light though lol. I’ve had tons of beer just the Busch Light was my first “legal” one. . I’m more of a Coors Light guy. Also really enjoy the beer from the Netherlands called Grolsch that my dad introduced me too. That friend also got me a Johnny Bootlegger so I need to try that sometime haha. There are also some more local ones I want to try too. Trying not to try too much all at once lol. Love beer though. Prefer it out of a bottle but can will do as a last resort haha. |

Cracked open a cold stored 2019 Narwhal last Saturday after a long day of painting... Haven't had one since 2020 pre Wuflu
Still pretty good.. but seemed sweeter than I remember. _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}

They smooth out with age. Plus, your taste will change over time, especially if you had the coof. Happened to me. _________________ nothing |
