On the way down, I Fractured the wrist, and the forearm, cracked something off the elbow, and the 'coupe de gras' with a half twist gainer (?) I landed on my right shoulder. Broke the whole dang thing.
I tore all the muscles and the ligs from the attachment points.
Did it real good, 9 months to a year for a good recovery.
Called a reverse total shoulder replacement. It is as it sounds, they >>>>
Yeah I not going to get into that.
I'm getting better in trying to wear out the remote. They won't let me do anything (one hand typing here) so I've gone to a youtube Marathon on anything VW, air cooled, split window, bus etc.. I've got so many ideas for the BUS, yeah biting my time.
Thanks for asking. Bruce. _________________ The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten. |

Sorry for you.
My English doesn’t allow me to find the good words, but I am with you. You will have to do a lot of effort, pass over pain and gain a lot of patience. Please, think positive, eat and sleep well. You will do it. You are here (and listening to your fall, it is quite a chance) and your bus will be waiting for you. Cleaning those glasses inside and outside will be a good reeducation. But go step by step.
Courage and don’t hesitate going through other medical ways at the same time. Be careful but sure that you hear about someone healing with traditional methods around you. Not a substitute, but a help.
Have a nice day! _________________ Freedom for the Catalan Countries

I can barely imagine the pain. Did you stay conscious or pass out from the pain.
Did you put the Bus' cover on with help? |

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

Same as the other remarks, sending my thoughts to you. That was hard to read, can't imagine living through it. |

Pulled the leaky Rancho trans out of the '66 Single today, it took 3 hours to warm the garage to a decent work temp, got right down to taking out the trans cradle bolts, as I went under the truck I lacerated the top of my head on the piece that the rear apron bolts to (circled in blue), blood everywhere. Drove to the ER, sat. for 2.5 hours, only to be sent home w/ no stiches/staples or glue, and a comment, "you should be more careful at your age" _________________ Tom

They're not wrong, but jeez that's terrible. The accident and service. |

Seems to be a lot of us older gentlemen getting injured lately. Has there been a poll taken of the age of the split bus forum readers? _________________ 1965 Velvet Green DC |

Meh, I was just being careless, it's painful to kneel down, since I was 90% done unbolting everything, I just kind of flopped/dropped down and my head pitched forward and scrapped that edge, my own stupid fault. I had a feeling that it might not take stiches, but since I couldn't see the cut, I wanted to be sure it was a minor cut. The waiting sucked since I knew my Garage was cooling down the longer I was at the Hospital. I did finish the job when I got home.
I'm 6 years older than my truck. _________________ Tom

Swapped out the beetle breather for the correct bus breather and adjusted the carb linkage.

My shifter was working terribly, so besides the bushings, I thought it was good time to do a little rehab.

That plate area, where the swing arm goes into the main body of trans, the crown? area? _________________ Tom

Yep Old Dude or Young it still hurts. Please pay attention to what's happening around you. That advice that we all have heard over and over, Three Points of Contact. Well, it's true. Nuff said.
I'm moving my new shoulder working to be able to move somewhat close to what was before.
I had pulled the motor and did a part take-a-part on the case back in Sept/Oct
Today I'm giving it a go for some well thought about VW PT. Insert Smile here.
VW everyday. B.
Thank you for all the good wishes. Lets move forward. _________________ The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten. |

Replaced 15 year old battery because it was getting a bit sluggish.
These Optimas are worth the money.

Well I pulled my engine in an attempt to fix an oil cooler leak,
I found a pinched seal and replaced that. However I either caused a new problem or failed to address another because the result is it's leaking worse.

I am absolutely jealous of you and your engine pulling VW dealership tool! Mega-cool and pretty rare! Good luck with the leak!
