Tim did it have a rear hatch or was the window cut out?
Are you gonna take it back to Dove Blue or leave the red and white?
Sweet bus

Rich- it was never Blue- delivered in factory grey primer.
Yes, its m053 + ...there's not much left of the original hatch, so we're gonna have to make one. Early ones appear too have been different, inasmuchas they were single skinned.

..Birth Certificate says 6 March 1952....DOES NOT mention M053! ...M030, M007 & M035 only..
-guess the hatch could be a later addition..? _________________ ....just cause you don't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there!.... |

That sucks dude
Might be a mistake on the records?
My oval was down on record as being red but was definatley a black car from the factory.
I would get some close up pictures of a og rear hatch barndoor bus to make sure its not original.
Pretty sure that edd still has his 53 that you could compare with maybe. |

Nice find =)
those roof strengtheners came in 1951, my other 1951 is -16337, there is none and later is -19708, there those are in place..
Tonny Larsen was seeking right time for that add.. maybe between 16337 - 19708 then..? _________________ Too many, wife says.. =) |

It's common for birth certifcates to be incorrect or missing info. The one for my bus has no info for the paint or engine number.
Have you dated the bus from the chassis number? I thought it was a january bus? _________________

..yes, Scotty, i thought it was Jan/feb
- Tonny's site says
"1952
Jan 20-021347
Feb 20-022408
Mar 20-023870 "
making it Feb, but the Birth Cert says "built & left factory on 6 March 1952"... _________________ ....just cause you don't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there!.... |

..however, David Eccles book quotes BOTH the above, AND "side marker lights " for M035.. - that's a possibility &
M030 as "type 21/23 in primer" AS WELL AS the "Headlight flasher " quoted on the Birth Certificate....THAT's more likely.. _________________ ....just cause you don't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there!.... |

maybe some one made a type error and your mo35 should be mo53
as reinforced pick up sides are highly un likley on a panel?
Have you started the rebuild yet? |

That seems a little strange in its self that it left the factory the same day it was built, mine is...
Built 24th Nov 1950 left factory 2nd Dec 1950.
Built 10th Jan 1951 left factory 15th Jan 1951.
Built 16th Jan 1951 left factory 13th March 1951.
The last one spent a lengthy time in the factory. |
