This was the 1970 Deluxe bus my 13 year old son saw from the freeway choked behind weeds. We bought it to have, then almost cut it up for the good steel to fix a rotted doublecab. Discovered it had a wiped thrust bearing seat which trashed the case. This is just before it went to England after I rebuilt the engine.
This is the newly rebuilt engine from a Type 3, waiting for the stove pipe tube. Bus lives on.

I wonder this sometimes. I have an Arizona dry '70 bus as well. What figure would they
have to offer for a bus like this in order to sell it to go across the pond? |

| Both buses I sold I listed here on the Samba, on EBay and Craigslist. I sold an equally dry and low mileage driving/refreshed 1977 sunroof bus as well as that one. Both sold for less than $7,000 and I think the shipping fees to the buyer was about $2,000 each, roughly speaking. Very little interest from stateside buyers above $4,500 either one. |

Had a junior at one of the high schools here rent my bus for their senior picture. It was great fun. I'm not sure who liked the bus more, him or his mom.
