Yeah, and I'd want to see closer pictures of the body and floor. Hard to see from the pics, but the nose ridge and torsion covers seem to be missing. _________________ Air does not freeze. Air does not boil.

The guy can't even spell ghia right. Maybe he meant $75.50 for the engine kid
That other seller you mentioned is OUTRAGEOUS! 12 dollars is highway robbery! _________________ 63 ghia coupe |

The trip speedo is rare, with an odometer and separate trip meter. Take a look at the classifieds. These are a rare option and are sought after and are worth drastically more than a standard speedo. A see two others early ones for sale in the classifieds right now and they are not original trip speedos, the are modified to add the speedo and they are $500-$550 just for the one gauge. I think his price is still high for the set, but if you think you can buy a trip speedo for $130.50 you are way off base.
Here is a link one other trip speedo for sale.

I have a similar NOS one of those swan necks in the blue ZVW box. It has the same ugly VW font and is also marked 151-141. Perhaps a different foundry had the contract? Looks like other swan necks but the gasket seems to be a plastic material instead of rubber.
Edit: Added picture. The top one is my original round head swan from 57/58. The bottom is the ugly font pear head swan.

This price seems ridiculously high, even for a low light.

Ok guys and gals, I need some help. I am selling one of my 56 Ghias and I honestly am not sure how to price it. It is a Feb/March car, not well rebuild but is licensed and runs. Looks nice but will require a far bit of work when it's stripped down. I have no intention of overpricing it but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot either.
This is not an ad, I need advice.
Thanks in advance.

A picture would help. Does it have most of the original hard to find parts, like the thin back seats, bumpers, perspex sun-visors etc.? _________________ John.

I never figured out the picture thing but I should be able to have another member help out with that. It has almost everything including some beat up one piece bumpers. Yes to the visors and low back seats. It is complete but does have new interior, carpet, seat covers, headliner, front window.
I know picture would be best and I'll work on it. Probably this upcoming weekend.
Thanks,

I asked the guy with the window clasp for vert if he would take less since it has been for sale for 3 years. He was insulted. $150? Crazy |

It's the dark brown one. Thanks for the links, I didn't know my beige one was on there.
My wife will be digging up some resto pictures for me to post soon.

OK, I have just uploaded 22 pictures in the gallery under 56 Ghia 110.
Want anything specific, let me know. I showed a weld in the one piece bumper, is this really one piece or a welded 3 piece?
Again I am looking for some advice?
Thanks again.

The bumpers look right to me,if a little battered, they were welded to make them one piece originally, correct guards too.
Are the seats 'thin backs'? Have you got the 1/4 window trim? Should be 1 piece aluminium i think, are the door top trims aluminium? Correct 'plexi' sun visors? Early side trim?
Body looks like it will need a bit of work once that brown comes off!
Any pre paint pictures?
Engine could be the original going by the number. |

The seats are thin backs, the window trim is floating around here somewhere and it is one piece al. I don't remember if the body trim is here, I'll have to look for it.
I'm still after the wife for the rebuild pics. The previous owner was a shop teacher at a high school and he let the students practice body work on it. Therefore, yes, there are some hidden unwanted treasures to be found and repaired. The guy that did the work for us cursed all the curves and did a rush job, so again some unwanted filler. The body is remarkably in good shape but will need to be stripped and properly repaired.
Anybody want to estimate a sell price? Even a ballpark price? I have a high and low number in my head so I want to know what you guys think. Send me a PM.
Thanks
