Can someone please explain to me why VW parts and VW cars being sold in California cost twice as much? Just something I've noticed. It's gotten so annoying that I modify the search criteria so that it doesn't include California in the location criteria.

I'd like to know why it's so dang impossible to find a GOOD door seal kit that has all german rubber, and not just *mostly* german rubber.

Why the heck is present technology is getting more complicated while old technology are more easy to fix!? That's one of the reason i like beetles more than some idiotic 2008 cars and trucks

I just want a good quality alternator fuel pump pushrod, not the long one from CB, not one of those awful flame-hardened and oversized pieces of crap I keep seeing.
Is this too much to ask?

the only thing that sucks big time is that you pay for reproduction parts and they dont fit, or even "new vw" parts from brazil or mexico and they just dont fit like real old school german parts... sigh... It almost makes me want to start rechroming all my old rusty bezels and bumpers and turn signal tops...

Why don't you? Rechoming is cheaper than buying shoddy new parts.

Where do you get your chrome done? My local chrome shop is rediculously expensive. Something like 1200 to do my bumpers before any metal straightening. AND, I'm pretty sure that wasn't triple plated.

That doesn't look like the topic of this thread. He must've been confused, it should've been posted here - http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=149769&highlight=
