I sold my towbar to the guy who bought my '74 Thing and now that the Oval is done I need another bar. The ads I see reference newer cars. Wish I had tried it on the cara before I sold mine.
The car is not lowered. Will the typical tow bar for beam axles work?

I have used my towbar on ovals and 60's bugs with no problem. It's just your standard bug towbar. _________________ This is my 23rd year in the Auto Body/Paint Game!

you can use a regular one on a super beetle if you put one end thru the little tow hook thing on the right side and wrap a chain around the sway bar on the left side, just make sure the little tow hook thingy isn't too rusty... then when it breaks off things get a little exciting for a few seconds ... _________________ There is an idea of a Billmetric; some kind of abstraction. well, it almost left itself upside down in a ditch but I managed to save it, long story but I was "reposessing" it from some dumb college kid who thought he was going to restore it over spring break ... I sold it for $100 with no engine, the kid took it to some guys garage to get it worked on, the guys mom was a notary and I had not yet recieved the Alabama title for it, as soon as mom found out it had no title they pushed it outside after cutting the floor pans out for no reason, had like 2 quarter sized holes, anyway, its still sitting out in the woods behind my dads house in PA, I have sold a few parts off of it over the years but have never really spent any time on it, I guess '71 super trunk lids are somewhat rare but it has all the glass in it still and I did eventually get the free Alabama title for it and transfered it sucessfully, I am almost finished working on a '72 super at my shop that some nut has dumped $6000 into, its still a roach too, has gaping holes in the rockers under the fresh carpet, I personally share the opinion on supers but people continue to hang onto these things and dump money into them, to the average Jane on the street they are still Beetles, and for a few thousand dollars you can usually get them to quit shaking at 55 mph _________________ There is an idea of a Billmetric; some kind of abstraction.
