The vin # is the one on the top right of the plate. Show pics of the heater vents and the doors to get a ballpark estimate of the years. _________________ die schwarzen Schafe #666 |

By vin # I have March '57 for the second car. Look under the back seat for a chassis #, maybe its on the right pan. _________________ die schwarzen Schafe #666 |

I agree with Brad. The most logical guess is that the first car is a January '57, the second is a March '57. What shape are the two cars in? _________________ die schwarzen Schafe #666 |

Yep, the floor vents verify it is indeed a '57. If it were a '56 or older the floor vents would be next to the firewall instead of by the door. Looks like a very solid car! What are your plans for them? _________________ die schwarzen Schafe #666 |

the first car is the one that we are fixing. the pan is all preped and reay for power coating tomorrow. the car will be on a 67 pan. the second car is complete but was rolled in a car crash. the most of the parts of the second car will go on the other one. |

Why would you put it on a '67 pan? I would use one that is at least close to the right year _________________ die schwarzen Schafe #666 |

The shell is, indeed, a '57. The '55 and earlier had a 3 fold ragtop, that was square on all 4 corners, the '56, a "one year only" ragtop that is rounded in the front, and square in the back, and the '7''63 has a ragtop that is rounded at all 4 corners, like yours. _________________ 2003 Samba Chummie Winner- Best Story

I've got a stripped '64 pan if you want it...has paperwork too. I'm only 30 min away. Would be much closer to correct than a '67. Let me know. |
