Thought it was some kind of power steering, nope. Kinda limits the travel.

Got any pictures from farther away? I'm getting lost in all of that detail.

Just looks like a cheap End load rack and pinion to me. I can't see how that would limit the travel.

I am guessing you are really talking about the fancy "whirly gig" connecting it to the steering shaft? It looks like pullies or sprockets. I imagine the guy was able to "ratio" the steering by using that setup. It's kind of a good idea, as long as the bicycle chain doesn't brake when your WFO. Wink

It is for sell or sold that is all I saw of it. What first caught my attention was the end of the steering coloumn, then the belt leading to the R&P,To me tie rods look to be almost on top of frame now. makes ya go Hmmmm.

Zooming in, it looks like a beltdrive. Shocked
I would think that a nice bounce and it would bounce right off?

I thought it looked like a belt too. That would just be extra cool if it slipped a little. Shocked

That looks like a Ramsey car, he used to put Miata engines in them and use a small timing belt to run the rack and pinion.

well that COULD be useful too. If your steering wheel wasn't exactly centered, you could just have someone hold their knee against the tire while you twisted into the proper position. Wink
