I'm trying to make my 1969 baja bug street legal for Pennsylvania and need longer than stock emergency brake cables. I have 2x3 rear trailing arms and a disc brake conversion on it. I know that the 1969 bug stock cables are some of the longest available and was wondering if anyone has found custom built ones or dealt with this issue before? Can I use cables from a bus and cut them to fit? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

There are cable shortening kits available. They are mostly used for shortened pan fiberglass buggies, and any vw specialist should have them, or ebay.

Can I use the regular emergency brake cables for the bus or do I need to use the ones for the bus disc brake kit? If I need the ones for the disc brake kit does anyone know where I can buy them separate without buying the kit?
