So far this year the coldest morning that I drove to work in was -26 Celius. Not sure what that converts to, but damn thats cold. The only exposed skin was around my eyes. _________________ Water is for toilets.

it was about 25 when i drove home from work just now, and i was f-ing freezing. no real hood seal, no radio, just lots of open places for cold-ass wind to get through. and ice. and stalling. and backfiring. and dying at stops.

I woke up this morning to -1F, and drove home in 19F weather. Got a set of heater boxes sitting on the shelf too, just need a compatible exhaust . How to stay warm: Carharts, snowmobile gloves, goober hat, and one of them Harbor Freight special heaters for defrost. Yeah, I know I look , well, interesting, but I've found if you make faces at the people staring they stop. |

Well Mikee, he did buy me a car and it is saving me over $100 a week on my previous gas costs so I'll keep 'em around awhile. I don't know about heat in the DC but I know it rains in that beast. I'll take cold over rain inside the vehicle.

When I drove up tp wprk with a scarf wrapped around my face, a beanie, and gloves, and a blanket wrapped around my shoulders....well they just got a big kick out of it and laughed. I did what any normal person would do, I slugged them and yelled.."slug bug!" I'll be looking at thermal ski masks this weekend.

It's funny cause it's true. I still can't figure where the cold air comes in from but it puts a nice thin layer of frost on all the windows. The Rain-X works better than hot water I've been told. _________________ "Smart people have no common sense." <---remark I overheard made by a training officer. |

With no heat and the dry weather we have, my windows don't frost up. They will acually clear up a bit after 10 minutes of driving with the front vent open just a little. I do scrape the outside but so far I haven't had to scape the inside. _________________ Water is for toilets.

Yeah, it's getting cold inland these days. I'm thankful that I live on the coast up here in NorCal - we might get cooler temps and fog in the summer, but it never really drops below 47 degrees where I live, in the winter - gotta love that big 'ol Pacific Ocean!
Anyway, aside from just bundling up, why not check out heated motorcycle jackets? I know Gerbing (spelling?) sells one for about $200, and it plugs into a 12-volt outlet. They also make heated gloves, pants, etc.
Meantime, be thankful we don't live east of the Rockies - they're seriously bumming right about now! |

You need to find a man that can keep you warm, or retrain the one you have. |

You guys are drivin' VWs in sub zero? That's incredible...coldest I drove my 73' beetle years ago was about 5 deg. And the speedo was howlin', it did NOT like that. Only had a lil' porthole thru the frost. Anything colder than that, it wouldn't start, sayin' "screw you buddy I'm not gettin up tooday"
Y'all have chutzpah. |

When i work at crystal mountain ski resort i would just where my ski clothing all the way up to the resort while driving, even the googles sometimes. I was warm, and i never had to chain up in the bug. Good days, when it only cost 8 buck in gas _________________
