I have a 75 convert..with the stock steel 4 lug wheels...that are all nasty...
I'm not sure if I want to repaint them..I'de like chrome wheels but can't afford the real thing.....Do these beauty rings look nice?? (the ones in the mags. that go for $50) do they look cheap (like those walmart hubcaps--no offense) do they stay in place??

any info would be great....and if anyone knows of a site I can check out to get a bettter look at them on wheels...

PLLEEAASSEE...I'm ordering stuff tommorow

A wire brush 2 cans of silver paint and a few hours work will look better.

I never liked the way they looked even when they were new (I'm that old). Look through some old VW ads and manuals. Here's one from the Archives section of TheSamba:

Make one out of cardboard.

Here's a trick... apply some vasoline to the tires around the rim. If you get any overspray on the tires, it will just wipe off.
