Anyone ever tried or heard of anyone trying a sidedraft Weber 45 DCOE on a T3? I always hated tinkering with my dual DCNF's, and thought that a single DCOE in the middle would be plenty for a small but healthy motor. Just wondering if anyone had ever tried it, or had some really good idea why it would be a bad idea.

i was thinking of this the other day, taking a bug manifold, cutting down the height, then welding it back together, then installing it rotated.

It'd be all kinds of fun to try with dual-port Bug manifold pieces -- the driver-side endcasting won't clear the tin over the oil cooler as-is.

Better bet for the manifold would be to use the runners from a Weber progressive setup, and you can probably find a used one cheap 'cuz *those* carbs are a horrid idea for using on a T3 .. and yet people keep buying 'em, go figure. Rolling Eyes

So type one manifolds are out. Don't know that Iv'e ever laid eyes on the progressive 2bbl manifold setup, unless it's that one with a square box in the middle that really looks like it doesn't flow smoothly for squat.
That thing aside, what of a pair of ICT dual port manifolds at each side, and then fab up your own center section? The ICT ends straight up, so you could (theoretically Smile ) have the center section curve away from the oil cooler. Might the 45 DCOE be too restricted through the 34 manifold? Perhaps one is limited to a 40 DCOE? (or whatever size DCOE's com in)
food for thought . . . .

if you decide to go for it and try, you may want to cinsider using that tubing that turbo guys use to plumb stuff for mock up/test runs. I think it might be PTFE, but anyways, defenetly heat resistant and stuff, might be easy to cut ICT manifolds, use these to adapt it to the top just to see if it works without spending too much time.......
