I'm replacing the entire rear luggage area metal, and I have cut off the metal strip that holds the carpet or flooring. I didn't measure it before I cut it off the old shelf, so I now need the distance of the strip in relation to the bottom of the shelf or as a reference the area where the seat belts bolt in. So, could someone measure the distance between the two so I can weld it in the right place. Thanks!

This is my luggage area...is this the area you mean? I'd be happy to run out to the car and get some measurements...

Harley riders, geeszch. I forgot what bug you have. If applicable, I'd be happy to measure my late vert for you later this evening if you like.

Kim in Tulsa - I think it was your tenth picture down, when you fold the seat down it is connected to the metal strip which is welded to the shelf area...

DeMinimis - Road King Classic - what can I say! Anyhow the car is a 71 Super Beetle...I think the location of the metal strip should be the same on all cars, I think....Thanks for your help!!

Ok...I took these measurements with a flexible cloth tape measure. The tape measure laid smooth on the surface I was measuring.

I've got one more picture to take, from the top of the latching bar to the top of the back seat support. Will post it here in a bit.

This is the only measurement I took that went through the "air". I stretched the tape measure from the top of the latch bar to the top of the back seat support (which didn't make it into the picture).

Yes, that is a former mouse nest on the left. Hubby is borrowing a shop vac this weekend and hopefully we'll get this car spiffed up a little.

Anything else you need?

Looks like Kim got you covered. I didn't get home from job #2 and a heated board meeting until too late to even watch the Daily Show.
